Tara Righetti

Tara Righetti is the inaugural Occidental Chair in Energy and Environmental Policies, jointly administered by the University of Wyoming's School of Energy Resources and Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources, and a Professor in the College of Law. Her expertise spans energy law, carbon capture governance, hydrogen policy, and subsurface property rights.

She leads research on regulatory frameworks for CCUS, pore space allocation, and energy transition policies, frequently collaborating with international agencies and industry partners. Recent work examines legal barriers to carbon storage on public lands and equitable resource governance.
