Tara La Rose is an Associate Professor at the School of Social Work, McMaster University. Her research focuses on professional identity, digital media in social work practice, and critical reflexive methodologies. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and an MSW from Dalhousie University. Her work critiques neoliberalism's impact on social work capacity and explores digital storytelling as a tool for advocacy.
Research interests include LGBTQ+ healthcare equity, digital literacy training for marginalized groups, and sousveillance in social welfare. She has published extensively on topics like 2SLGBTQI+ clinical encounters, older adults' digital access, and union advocacy in child welfare.
