About
Tamara R. Mutic is a junior research assistant at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade, affiliated with the Department of Biochemistry. She holds a BSc (2016-2021) and MSc (2021-2022) in Chemistry from the same institution. Her research focuses on environmental contaminants, microplastics toxicity, and enzymatic activity in biological systems.
Education:
- BSc Chemistry, University of Belgrade Faculty of Chemistry (2016-2021)
- MSc Chemistry, University of Belgrade Faculty of Chemistry (2021-2022)
Research interests include investigating the combined effects of micro/nanoplastics and environmental contaminants on allergic diseases, as well as enzymatic degradation mechanisms of plastics in the human gastrointestinal tract. She participates in EU-funded projects like IMPTOX (Horizon 2020) and nationally funded XPACT (PRISM).
Grants and projects:
- IMPTOX (2021-2025): Analytical platform for microplastic toxicity assessment
- XPACT (2023-2026): PETase enzyme activity on microplastics
