Szabolcs Pogonyi is an Associate Professor in the Nationalism Studies Program at Central European University. His research focuses on diasporic nation building, transborder minorities, non-resident citizenship, and external voting.
Research Interests
His work explores the intersection of political theory and nationalism, particularly how citizenship policies, ethnic identity, and transnationalism shape post-communist European societies. He analyzes the role of Hungarian diaspora communities in national reunification and the ethical implications of populism and authoritarianism.
