Sven Schneider

Professor Sven Schneider is a faculty member at Georg-August University of Göttingen's Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, where he leads multiple German Research Foundation (DFG) funded projects. He serves as speaker for Collaborative Research Center SFB 1633: 'Electron Shift by Protons – Unifying Strategies for Multi-Electron Redox Catalysis by Proton-Coupled Electron Transfer'.

His research focuses on:

• Photochemical generation of metallonitrenes for nitrogen atom transfer
• Transition metal complexes with amido, imido, nitrido and oxo ligands
• Small molecule activation and transformation
• Bifunctional dehydrocoupling reactions
• Photochemical nitrogen fixation

Professor Schneider has secured significant infrastructure funding for analytical equipment including multiple NMR spectrometers (400-600 MHz), X-ray photoelectron spectrometry systems, and crystallography equipment. His current sub-projects focus on Photo-PCET mediators and selective N₂ fixation within collaborative research frameworks.

His scientific recognition includes the prestigious Emmy Noether Fellowship, which supported his early independent research career in inorganic chemistry.

As both principal investigator and equipment project leader, Professor Schneider maintains an active research program bridging fundamental inorganic synthesis with potential applications in catalysis and sustainable chemistry.
