Professor Suzy Basile is affiliated with the School of Indigenous Studies at the University of Quebec in Abitibi-Temiscamingue. She holds the Canada Research Chair on Issues Relating to Indigenous Women and leads the Research Lab on Indigenous Women's Issues – Mikwatisiw. Her work focuses on Indigenous women’s reproductive health, governance, environmental consultation, and cultural anthropology.

- Pregnancy, childbirth, and midwifery practices among Indigenous communities
- Obstetric violence and forced sterilization policies
- Indigenous territorial governance and Nordic development models
- Ethical research methodologies with Indigenous Peoples
