Suzanne Orban

Suzanne Orban is a Professor of Cello and Instructor of Music at St. Mary's College of Maryland, where she teaches and performs. She has held principal cello roles with the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra (1986–1996) and currently serves as Principal Cellist of the Virginia Chamber Orchestra. She is also a member of the Opus Tango Ensemble and has collaborated with ensembles like the National Symphony and Washington National Opera.

• Education: Bachelors in Music from Northwestern University (studied under Alan Harris); Masters in Performance from the University of Maryland (studied under Evelyn Elsing, David Soyer, and members of the Gueneri Quartet).

Her expertise spans classical cello performance, chamber music, and orchestral repertoire. Orban has performed at festivals including the Blossom Music Festival, Mozart Festival, and National Orchestral Institute. Her 1990s grant from the Maryland State Council for the Arts supported solo performances.
