Suveshnee Munien

Suveshnee Munien is an Associate Professor of Land Use in the Department of Ecology & Environmental Studies at Florida Gulf Coast University's Water School. She holds a Ph.D. (Environmental Sciences) and M.S. (Remote Sensing and Forest Health) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Her research focuses on human-environment interactions, land use change, climate resilience, and socio-hydrological vulnerability. She employs transdisciplinary approaches to address sustainability challenges, including energy poverty and disaster responses. Dr. Munien has secured grants such as the National Research Foundation Scarce Skills PhD Scholarship and has presented globally. She mentors graduate students and contributes to multi-institutional programs addressing environmental and development issues.
