Susann Bruche

Susann Bruche is an Associate Professor of Developmental and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics (DPAG) and Wolfson College. She works in the De Val Group as a Research Scientist.

• Education: Biochemistry (BSc), Imperial College London (MRes in Biomedical Research)

Her research focuses on cardiovascular science, epithelial junction biogenesis, and flow-responsive gene expression. She previously studied alternative splicing in heart repair and RhoA signaling in vasculature.

Recent publications highlight her expertise in cardiovascular development (Slit2/Robo1 interactions), cell-cell adhesion (Junction Mapper tool), and vascular protection mechanisms (Thymosin β4/LRP1). Her work bridges molecular genetics and biomedical engineering applications.
