Susana Fidalgo

Susana Fidalgo is a Coordinating Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu School of Education of Viseu, where she serves as Vice-President of the Organic Unit and Coordinator of the Foreign Languages Disciplinary Area. Her academic career spans over three decades with progressive roles from Assistant to Coordinating Professor since 1984.

She investigates how language skills impact employability and economic competitiveness, especially in the Viseu region of Portugal.

Her publication trends reveal consistent focus on multimodal creativity in language teaching, with recent work exploring serious games, digital storytelling, and nonlinear narratives for enhancing foreign language learning in higher education. Her JASM project (2019-2021) represents a significant contribution to multimodal language teaching innovation.

Susana actively contributes to educational policy through her role as coordinator of Scientific-Pedagogical Teams for English textbook evaluation across multiple educational cycles in Portugal's basic education system.
