Susan deFrance

Professor Susan deFrance is a Professor of Anthropology at the University of Florida, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) and the Department of Anthropology. Her research focuses on Zooarchaeology, Coastal Adaptations, Andean Empires, Central Andes, and Caribbean studies.

Current research projects include:

• Tiwanaku and Wari political economy and faunal use in southern Peru;
• Caribbean animal importations and movement of exotics in pre-Columbian cultures;
