Susan Trudeau

Susan Trudeau serves as a Senior Adjunct Instructor in the English Department at the College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences, University of Detroit Mercy. With over 25 years of experience teaching high school and college English, she currently delivers online courses from her residence in Satsuma, Florida, following her retirement from the directorship of the Student Success Center.

Her educational qualifications include:

• M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Detroit
• B.A. in Communications from University of Detroit
• Post-Secondary Teacher Certification from State of Michigan

Trudeau specializes in working with new college students, reluctant writers, and students with disabilities across speech, composition, argumentation, and literature courses. Her pedagogical expertise spans multiple institutions including College for Creative Studies, Lewis College, Henry Ford Community College, and Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program, emphasizing accessibility and foundational academic skills development.

Having transitioned from her administrative role as Student Success Center director, she maintains active faculty engagement through teaching while operating remotely from Florida. Her approach focuses on personalized student support and inclusive instructional strategies for diverse learner needs.
