Susan Pulham

Prof. Susan Pulham is a Professor of Economics Mathematics and Statistics at Saarland University of Applied Sciences (htw saar) since 2009. Her research focuses on optimizing study success and advancing higher education. She teaches statistics, mathematics, decision theory, and operations research across economics programs. Previously, she taught at RWTH Aachen, DHBW Baden-Württemberg, and other institutions while working as a consultant and trainer.

Education: PhD in Economics and Social Sciences from RWTH Aachen, with bachelor's and master's degrees in Psychology (FernUniversität Hagen).

Her research projects include the BMBF-funded 'DIGITAM' and 'Optimierung des Studienerfolgs', and she leads the Continuing Education Center Saar (CEC Saar). She chairs the MINT4Saar e.V. association and serves on multiple university committees, including the Senate and Faculty Council of Economics.

Awards include the 2021 State Teaching Award for Saarland for her team-based learning initiatives. She coordinates thesis projects on topics like cognitive load theory, risk attitudes in tennis, and psychological aspects in business offerings. She actively participates in professional networks like the German Didactics of Mathematics Society and the Rotary Club.
