Susan Henderson-Bone

Susan Henderson-Bone is a Lecturer at the School of Education and Social Sciences at the University of the West of Scotland. Her research focuses on pedagogy, learning, and curriculum-making in Holocaust and Genocide Education, dementia education, early childhood care, and sociomaterial methodologies. She has led projects such as the Carnegie-funded 'Tracks of the Past' and collaborates with organizations like Vision Schools Scotland and the Holocaust Educational Trust. She actively supervises PhD students and has published on intergenerational learning, industrial heritage, and breastfeeding practices in early years settings.

Research Interests: Holocaust Education, Sociomaterial Theories, Intergenerational Learning, Dementia Education, Early Childhood Pedagogies, Place-responsive Approaches.

Awards: Carnegie Trust Research Incentive Grant (2018/19).

Advising & Grants: Supervises PhD students like Shaddai Tembo and Lorraine Gilmour. Collaborates with Early Years Scotland and the Scottish Educational Research Association (Trustee, 2016–2019).
