Alasdair Richardson

Dr Alasdair Richardson is a Professor/Reader in Education at the Institute of Education, University of Winchester. He holds leadership roles including Postgraduate Research Student Lead for the Faculty of Education and previously co-headed Research & Knowledge Exchange. His career spans school teaching (including Deputy Head roles), teacher training, and senior academic administration. Richardson is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Fellow of the Royal Historical Society/Royal Society of Arts.

Research Focus: Specializes in Holocaust Education, particularly emotional engagement with traumatic narratives, memorial spaces, and teacher-student dynamics. Active in genocide studies and religious education pedagogy. Current projects include a monograph on Nazi persecution of Catholics and co-chair roles in national/international Holocaust organizations.
