Professor Susan Harris Rimmer is a leading academic in international human rights law, climate justice, and gender equality at Griffith Law School, Griffith University. She serves as a member of the Griffith Asia Institute, Law Futures Centre, and Climate Action Beacon, and leads the Climate Justice theme. Her roles include co-convenor of the Griffith Gender Equality Research Network and founder of EveryGen, advocating for future generations' rights. She was appointed an independent reviewer of Queensland’s Human Rights Act 2019, producing the report 'Placing People at the Heart of Policy' (2025).
Education: B.A. (Hons) and LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Queensland, and S.J.D. from the Australian National University. Her research spans climate policy, feminist international law, and security studies, with over $2 million in research funding, including an ARC Future Fellowship (2015–2020) and multiple grants on disability rights and climate justice.
Notable awards include the Fulbright Scholarship (2021), Bertha Lutz Prize (2021), and Queensland Voices Female Leader (2019).
