Susan Doty is a Senior Lecturer in Economics and Director of the Center for Economic Education and Financial Literacy (CEEFL) at the University of Texas at Tyler. She holds an MBA in Management (Finance emphasis, Bryant University, 1982) and a BA in Biology (Education minor, Wheaton College, 1978). A recipient of the 2015 UT System Regents' Teaching Award, she serves on boards for the Council for Economic Education (NY), Texas Council for Economic Education (Houston), and the National Association of Economic Educators.
Her research focuses on economic education, financial literacy, and technology's impact on education. Teaching specialties include Principles of Economics, Economics of Technology, and K-12 teacher professional development. With 20+ years' teaching experience, she previously taught at the Sam Walton School of Business (UArk), Syracuse University's Maxwell School, and the University of Southern Mississippi.
Professional interests include instructional design and K-12 financial literacy initiatives. Personal interests encompass reading, travel, gardening, and duplicate bridge.
