About
Susan Conger-Austin is a Professor of Practice and the International Programs Director for the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (MCHAP) at the College of Architecture. She joined the faculty in 1993 after working as a Studio Head/Associate Partner at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in Chicago. A graduate of Stanford University with a Master's in Architecture from Princeton University, she teaches advanced design studios and conducts graduate and undergraduate seminars. Since 2000, she has collaborated globally on educational workshops and exchanges in Chile, Brazil, and Spain under Fulbright Specialist Scholar grants.
Her professional contributions include leadership roles such as serving on the Board of Trustees for the AIA Chicago Foundation and membership in the Leading Forum Committee at the Chicago Architecture Center. Her work has been published in Architectural Record (Featured Houses) and Dwell+.
