Dr. Susan Cahill is an Associate Professor at the School of Irish Studies, Concordia University, Montréal, and a Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute of English Studies. Her work focuses on Irish girls’ literary cultures, children’s/YA fiction, and contemporary Irish literature, particularly women’s writing. She has authored a monograph on Irish literature during the Celtic Tiger years and edited collections on Anne Enright and Colum McCann. Her research includes a FRQSC-funded project on 'Ireland's Daughters: The Literary Cultures of the Irish Girl, 1870-1922.'
Research highlights include studies on gender, the body in fiction, historical children’s literature, and fairytale cinema. She explores themes of memory, identity, and cultural narratives in Irish literary history.
