Susan Brähler

Dr. Susan Brähler is a Professor and Chair of English Literature at the Department of English and American Studies, Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg. She serves as Senior Academic Councillor and Head of Examination Board for the MA English and American Studies program. Her research focuses on contemporary British literature, gender/queer studies, neo-Victorianism, and early modern drama with an emphasis on intersections between law, literature, and genre theory.

Her recent works include studies on transnational piracy narratives and abjection in literary theory. She has received multiple awards including the FAU teaching award and DAAD scholarships. Dr. Brähler actively participates in academic service through editorial boards and mentoring programs.
