Sunil Kumar

Sunil Kumar serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry within the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Denver. He maintains dual affiliations with the Knoebel Institute for Healthy Aging and the Molecular & Cellular Biophysics program, reflecting his interdisciplinary research approach to complex biological systems.

His laboratory pioneers the design of synthetic protein mimetics to investigate and modulate pathological protein-protein and protein-RNA interactions, with specific focus on amyloid-related mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative disorders and organ-localized diseases. Utilizing advanced biophysical assays and cellular models, Dr. Kumar's work bridges chemical synthesis with disease mechanism elucidation to identify novel therapeutic targets.
