Daniel A. Linseman

Daniel A. Linseman is a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Denver. He holds affiliations with the Eleanor Roosevelt Institute, the Knoebel Institute for Healthy Aging, and has a background in neuropharmacology and cell signaling research. His work focuses on neurodegenerative disorders and neurotrauma mechanisms.

Education: B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Michigan (1987), Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Michigan (2000). Postdoctoral training at the Denver VA Medical Center (2000-2005). Held joint VA/DU appointments (2006-2015) before transitioning to full-time faculty at DU in 2015.

Research interests include molecular mechanisms of neuronal injury and neuroprotection, with specific focus on stroke, neurodegenerative diseases, and aging-related brain pathology. His lab explores signaling pathways and therapeutics targeting cellular stress responses in neurons.

Teaching responsibilities include courses in Neuropharmacology and Cell Signaling. Active in collaborative research networks through affiliated institutes.
