Dr. Sumaya Albalooshi is Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Groningen. Her research examines the psychological impacts of economic inequality and poverty on decision-making processes and consumer behavior.
Her work investigates how economic disadvantage affects executive functioning, temporal discounting, and responses to marketing appeals. Current projects explore self-affirmation interventions to mitigate the psychological effects of financial deprivation and the relationship between inequality perceptions and preference for personal control.
Dr. Albalooshi teaches courses in consumer psychology, behavioral decision making, and research methods at undergraduate and graduate levels.
