Sukran Karaosmanoglu

Sukran Karaosmanoglu is a Researcher at the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences of the University of Hamburg. She works under the Human-Computer Interaction research group led by Prof. Dr. Steinicke. Her roles include postdoctoral research, teaching, and scientific service on conference committees.

Research Focus: Designing immersive VR games for societal impact, particularly in physical activity, active aging, and social interaction. Her work bridges game design, health informatics, and inclusive technology, contributing to UN SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being). Recent projects include exploring AI in exergames for older adults and analyzing potential harms of immersive exergames.

Teaching: Courses in Interactive Game Development, User Interface Software & Technology, and Usability Engineering & UX Design at the University of Hamburg from 2023-2025. She also co-led the German HCI Event organization in 2024-2025.
