Suhyun Jung

Suhyun Jung is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Forest Ecosystems & Society at Oregon State University's College of Forestry. As an applied microeconomist, his research addresses sustainability challenges at the intersection of conservation and development. His work examines sustainable forestry management, agricultural production systems, environmental governance, and ecosystem service management in developing regions.

Primary research domains include: (1) Land use dynamics and forest conservation tradeoffs; (2) Socioeconomic impacts of environmental policies; (3) Rural livelihood strategies in changing landscapes; and (4) Technology adoption in agricultural systems. Methodologically, his research employs quasi-experimental designs, spatial econometrics, and household survey analysis.

Publication patterns reveal consistent focus on Global South contexts, with empirical studies spanning Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Tanzania, Nepal, Brazil, and Cambodia.
