Sue Chen is Associate Professor of Writing and Literature at Deakin University, specializing in transnational children's literature across British, Australian, and Chinese contexts. Her research examines the intersections of print culture, childhood studies, and educational history.

Her current Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation-funded project investigates science in Chinese children's literature. Chen serves as President of the Australasian Children’s Literature Association and edits Papers: Explorations into Children's Literature.
