Sue Beckingham is an Associate Professor and Learning, Teaching and Assessment Lead in the School of Computing and Digital Technologies at Sheffield Hallam University. She holds prestigious titles including National Teaching Fellow (NTF), Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), and Fellow of the Staff and Educational Development Association (FSEDA). Her academic leadership focuses on enhancing learning, teaching, and assessment strategies.
Her research interests include Social Media for Learning, Digital Identity, and Technology-Enhanced Learning. She co-founded the weekly #LTHEchat tweetchat, fostering global conversations on learning and teaching in higher education. Additionally, she co-developed Bring Your Own Devices for Learning (BYOD4L), an open online course to improve digital skills.
As an Editor of the Journal of Social Media for Learning, she champions innovative educational practices. She serves on committees such as the Student Experience Committee and Athena Swan Committee at Sheffield Hallam, promoting inclusivity and gender equality in STEM.
