Dr Sue Peckover is a Reader at Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), joining in January 2014. Previously, she held roles at the University of Huddersfield’s Centre for Applied Childhood Studies and the University of Sheffield School of Nursing and Midwifery. She specializes in Health Visiting and teaches on the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) programme. Her research focuses on child and family health, public health, safeguarding, domestic abuse, and e-technologies in healthcare.
Research Projects:
- Evaluated the 0-19 SCPHN role in Barnsley (2018-2019).
- Investigated South Asian women’s access to pediatric allergy services in Sheffield (2017-2018).
- Examined behavior change skills in SCPHN curricula (2017-2018).
Leadership: She leads the NIHR CRN-funded '0-19 Research Network: Yorkshire and the Humber', fostering collaboration between practitioners, researchers, and policymakers to improve child and youth public health.
Education: Holds a PhD, MMed.Sci., PgCert.Ed., BSc(Econ), and professional certifications (RHV, RGN). She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
