Sudeshna Basugupta

Dr. Sudeshna Basugupta is an Associate Professor (Teaching) in Sustainable Resource Management at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University College London (UCL). Her academic career spans roles including Lecturer (Teaching) at UCL (2016–2022) and Senior Research Fellow in Earth Sciences (2013–2022). She holds certifications including Chartered Engineer (CEng), Chartered Scientist (CSci), and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).

Education includes a Ph.D. in Geology from the Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad (2004), and M.Sc. (1st class distinction) and B.Sc. (1st class honours with distinction in Mathematics and Physics) from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.

Her research focuses on Geology, Geochemistry, Geophysics, and Sustainable Resource Management, with affiliations to UCL’s Chemical Engineering and Earth Sciences departments.
