Steven Walker

Steven Walker CDI, CLIP-R, has been affiliated with Gallaudet University's Interpreting Services since 1992 as both freelance and staff. With over 29 years of experience, he specializes in DeafBlind interpreting, International Signing, medical/mental health/legal interpreting, and Deaf/hearing interpreting partnerships. He actively contributes to the profession through roles in RID-Deaf Caucus, PCRID, and the Conference of Interpreter Trainers.

As an educator, Walker has taught over 100 seminars globally and serves as an instructor/guest lecturer at Montgomery College, focusing on Deaf Culture courses across majors. His professional development includes training programs in interpreter education and mentorship.

Walker holds certifications in CDI (Certified Deaf Interpreter) and CLIP-R (Certified Legal Interpreter – Remote). He is married to Krista Leitch Walker and has three adult children and a grandson.
