Steven Schilizzi

Steven Schilizzi is a Professor at the University of Western Australia (UWA), affiliated with the UWA School of Agriculture and Environment and the UWA Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy. He holds a PhD in Energy Economics from EHESS (Paris) and has extensive experience in international research roles, including at INRA (France) and CLIMA (UWA). His current roles include membership in the 'Education Futures' committee and Library Liaison Officer.

His research focuses on environmental economics, natural resource management, experimental economics, and policy design. Key areas include conservation tenders, equity analysis, groundwater management, and food security in developing regions. Recent projects address equity-efficiency trade-offs in environmental policy and economic modelling for water-sensitive cities.

He has secured grants from LWA, ACIAR, and the ARC, contributing to over 100 publications. His 2015 Quality of Research Communication Award highlights his effective dissemination of economic research findings.

Steven advises on conservation auctions, policy impacts, and sustainable development goals, with a strong emphasis on bridging theory and practical policy applications. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to hunger, sustainable cities, and responsible consumption.
