Dr. Steven Porter serves as a Clinical Instructor in the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology at University Hospitals MacDonald Women’s Hospital (Cleveland, Ohio) and Boston Medical Center (Boston, Massachusetts). He is also the CEO of riskLD Inc., a digital health company specializing in software for early alerting, clinical decision support, and perinatal analytics. His work combines clinical practice with entrepreneurial innovation to address global women’s health challenges. Previously, he was a Consultant at Bain & Company’s Johannesburg office and has long collaborated with mothers2mothers (m2m), a South Africa-based non-profit supporting HIV-positive pregnant women and new mothers.
Dr. Porter earned an A.B. summa cum laude from Princeton University (2004), where he received the Moses Taylor Pyne Honor Prize. He holds an M.D. with Honors from Harvard Medical School (2011) and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School (2011).
His research and professional interests focus on leveraging technology and social innovations to improve maternal health outcomes, particularly in underserved populations. He has contributed to advancing clinical decision-support systems and perinatal data analytics in obstetric care.
