Steven Hamilton

Steven Hamilton is an Assistant Professor of Economics at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a Visiting Fellow at the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute at The Australian National University. His research focuses on tax policy, public finance, and fiscal systems, informed by his prior experience in federal budget analysis.

Hamilton holds a PhD and MA in Economics from the University of Michigan, and a First-Class Honours degree in Economics from the University of Queensland. His professional background includes work as a former Australian Treasury official, where he contributed to multiple federal budgets.
