Dr. Steve Sloan is a Professor at the School of Business Leadership of Mid-America Christian University (MACU), where he has taught since 1991 after being hired as the institution's first full-time business instructor. He developed the business program from just five initial students into the thriving School of Business Leadership.
His educational background includes:
- Associate in Arts Degree in General Studies from New Mexico Military Institute
- Bachelor of Arts in Business/Social Science from Southern Nazarene University
- Master of Science in Management from Southern Nazarene University
- Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma Law School
Dr. Sloan specializes in business education with research interests spanning Business Administration, Management, Law, Human Resources, Ethics, and Criminal Justice. He uniquely integrates faith-based perspectives with business concepts, utilizing current events and Biblical examples in his teaching methodology. His professional credentials include Oklahoma state licensure as an attorney and certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
He has held significant administrative roles including Chair of the CAS Business Administration Department and current Program Director for the CAGS Business Administration and Ethics degree program. Dr. Sloan has actively contributed to university governance through extensive committee service in leadership capacities such as secretary and chair, while maintaining a strong commitment to student interaction and mentorship.
