Dr. Stephen Penn is a Lecturer in English Studies at the University of Stirling. He holds a BA from the University of Birmingham, an MPhil from the University of Cambridge, and a DPhil from the University of York. His research focuses on John Wyclif's Latin works, medieval sacramental theology, and patristic foundations of theology. He has translated Wyclif's Latin texts for Manchester University Press (2019). At Stirling, he teaches Old/Middle English, historical linguistics, and Latin for postgraduates. He supervises doctoral research in medieval literature, mysticism, and theology-related topics.
