John Gallagher

John Gallagher is a Lecturer in the School of English at the University of St Andrews and Assistant Editor of Fontes Anglo-Saxonici, the comprehensive database of sources for Old English and Anglo-Latin literature. His research focuses on biblical exegesis, textual criticism, and religious literature in Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages. He is co-organizer of the international conference 'Entangled Christianities: 100–1500 CE'.

Research explores translation practices in religious texts, medieval hermeneutics, cosmological frameworks in early Christian thought, and digital approaches to manuscript analysis. His scholarship examines how classical and late antique traditions influenced Anglo-Saxon literary culture.
