Stephen Hodin teaches writing and interdisciplinary studies in Boston University's College of Arts and Sciences Writing Program. With a Ph.D. in American Studies, his courses explore technology-society intersections and American manifestos. Research examines cultural narratives through figures like Herman Melville and Harriet Jacobs.
Current projects investigate Walt Whitman's Civil War-era humanitarian writings. Dr. Hodin's scholarship appears in the Journal of the Early Republic and ESQ: A Journal of Nineteenth-Century American Literature and Culture, analyzing historical constructions of labor, race, and technological change in American thought.
