Professor Stephen Greer is a Professor of Theatre and Performance at the University of Glasgow, affiliated with the School of Culture and Creative Arts and the Department of Theatre, Film & Television Studies. His research focuses on contemporary theatre and performance, queer theory, cultural politics, and Live Art. He is the author of Contemporary British Queer Performance (2012) and Queer Exceptions (2018), and has published widely on queer performance, digital art, and neoliberalism's impact on the arts.
Greer serves as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds editorial roles in journals like RiDE: The Journal of Applied Theatre and Performance. He co-chairs the Board of Company of Wolves and is a trustee of Take Me Somewhere, an international live art support organization.
