Minty Donald

Professor Minty Donald is a faculty member at the University of Glasgow's School of Theatre, Film & Television Studies, specializing in Contemporary Performance Practice. She holds a PhD from the University of Glasgow (2014) and previously worked as a professional scenographer and artist. Her research focuses on more-than-human performance, challenging anthropocentrism through interdisciplinary collaborations with geologists, hydrologists, and architects. Key projects include Guddling About, Erratic Drift, and THEN/NOW, exploring ecological and geological themes.

Her publications and exhibitions bridge performance art, urban studies, and environmental science. Notable works include Piel de la Ciudad (2024), Fast Geology/Slow Architecture (2023), and Attuning to the Aqueous Urban (2022). She has received awards such as the AHRC Fellowship in Creative Arts and multiple grants from Creative Scotland and Glasgow City Council.

Professor Donald advises PhD students in performance ecology, scenography, and site-specific practices. She collaborates with Nick Millar and serves as Convenor of Postgraduate Research in Theatre Studies. Her teaching spans modernism, performance spatial practices, and research methods.
