Dr. Stephanie Latty is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminology at Toronto Metropolitan University. Her research focuses on Black feminisms, critical race theory, anti-Blackness, carcerality, gendered violence, and abolition. She examines media and legal discourses surrounding state violence against Black women and girls in Canada. Previously, she taught at George Brown College and served on the Board of Directors for Planned Parenthood Toronto (2017–2020).
