Stephanie F. Heller

Stephanie F. Heller, M.D. is a Clinical Professor and Chair of the Division of Trauma, Critical Care and General Surgery at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. She serves on national surgical education committees including as current Chair of the ACGME Surgery Residency Review Committee (2024-2025) and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Her research spans trauma surgery outcomes, critical care management, and surgical education methodology. Recent work includes biomarker studies in COVID-19 patients, analysis of surgical workforce diversity trends, and evaluation of trauma system performance metrics. She has published extensively in journals including Annals of Surgery, Journal of Surgical Education, and World Journal of Surgery.

Dr. Heller has received numerous teaching awards including Mayo Clinic's Excellence in Teaching Award and Program Director Recognition Award. Her clinical focus includes enterocutaneous fistulae management, surgical wound care, and trauma system optimization.
