Stephanie Booth is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. She holds a D.Phil. in Virology and Biochemistry from the University of Oxford and a B.Sc. in Microbiology from University College London. Her research focuses on prion diseases, specifically investigating public health risks, developing molecular techniques for detection, and understanding how prions damage brain cells. She leads the prion research team at the National Microbiology Laboratory, Public Health Agency of Canada.
