Eric Bow is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and cross-appointed to the Department of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. He has been affiliated with CancerCare Manitoba and Health Sciences Centre (HSC) Winnipeg since 1982, specializing in infectious diseases of cancer patients and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

His research focuses on infection prevention strategies in ambulatory cancer populations, central venous access device (CVAD)-related infections and thrombotic complications, and management of bacterial/fungal infections in neutropenic cancer patients. He has developed clinical practice guidelines for febrile neutropenia management at provincial and international levels.
Scientific awards include the Difco Award in Microbiology (1972), Clinical Infectious Diseases Awards for Outstanding Review (2005, 2008, 2010), and the Academic Year Teaching Award (2016). Dr. Bow also served as chief of the Leukaemia/BMT Unit at HSC for 20 years and co-founded the Blood and Marrow Transplant Programme.
