Stephan Maurus Schneiders

Stephan Maurus Schneiders is a doctoral researcher at the Institute of Clinical Molecular Biology (IKMB) affiliated with Kiel University (CAU) and the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH). He works in the Junior Research Group Intestinal Immune Regulation under supervisor Petra Bacher, focusing on T cell reactivity against colitogenic microbes in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) using antigen-reactive T cell enrichment (ARTE) technology.

• Prior project assistant roles at the Institute of Infection and Global Health in Liverpool and the Biomedical Center in Uppsala

His research explores the link between microbial dysbiosis and aberrant immune responses in IBD, aiming to identify biomarkers and antigens predictive of disease onset and progression. Previous work analyzed immune responses during pneumococcal infections and Yersinia virulence plasmid dynamics.
