Tanne Stephens is a Researcher at Kiel University since 2023, focusing on intercultural pragmatics, politeness theory, and World Englishes. Previously, she worked as a Research Associate in multilingualism and education at Muenster University (2022-2023) on the ComeWrite! intervention study.
- Education: MA in National and Transnational Studies: Literature, Culture, Language (2022, Muenster University); BA in German Studies (Smith College, 2011); Associate degrees in English (Cottey College, 2009).
Research interests include cross-cultural communication, politeness theory, and heritage language studies. Her MA thesis explored universality in Brown and Levinson's politeness theory across German and American English requests.
