Prof. Dr. Steffi Lehmann serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Pharmacology at Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), School of Life Sciences and Facility Management, while also leading the MSc Pharmaceutical Biotechnology program.
Her research focuses on:
- Targeted drug delivery systems development
- Preclinical pharmacology using 2D/3D cell cultures and zebrafish larvae for DMPK and efficacy testing
- In vitro/in vivo molecular imaging techniques
- Pharmaceutical formulation engineering
Current projects include zebrafish-based drug screening, brain cancer drug retention strategies, and novel phage-derived antimicrobials. Completed projects span CAR macrophage efficacy imaging, antimicrobial surface coatings, and diagnostic tablet formulations.
Recent publications demonstrate expertise in antimicrobial lysin engineering and extracellular vesicle functionalization, bridging nanotechnology with therapeutic delivery applications.
She contributes to continuing education through the CAS Detergents & Cosmetics program.
