Steffi Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Alaska Anchorage. She directs the ANCARE Lab and holds a Ph.D. in Clinical-Community Psychology from UAA (2020), an M.A. in Clinical Psychology (UAA, 2018), and M.S./B.S. degrees in Biology from the University of Bremen, Germany (2004). Her research examines Alaska Native aging, dementia-related stigma, and culturally responsive healthcare using community-based participatory and Indigenous methodologies. She focuses on resilience, oppression resistance, and policy interventions for older adults.
Publications (2017-2024) analyze successful aging in urban/rural Alaska Native communities, generativity in Unangan Elders, and decolonizing research frameworks. Trends highlight qualitative and mixed-methods approaches to address health disparities.
