Robert J. Boeckmann

Robert J. Boeckmann is Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Alaska Anchorage's College of Arts and Sciences. His research examines social justice perceptions, intergroup relations, and the psychological impacts of discrimination. He investigates how individuals evaluate fairness in social systems and respond to policies addressing inequality.

Dr. Boeckmann's work explores reactions to hate speech, determinants of political engagement, and contextual factors influencing attitudes toward affirmative action. His studies have analyzed gender discrimination beliefs in workplace settings, moral dimensions of anti-doping policies in sports, and community influences on self-objectification processes.

He has served in numerous administrative roles including Faculty Senate President and Institutional Review Board Co-Chair. His community engagement includes advisory positions with youth justice organizations and initiatives promoting civil rights education.
