Stefanie Ruel

Dr. Stefanie Ruel is an Assistant Professor at the Shannon School of Business (Cape Breton University), focusing on justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) in STEM and entrepreneurship. She holds a BSc in Mathematics from McGill University, an MBA, and a DBA from Athabasca University.

• Research Interests: Intersectionality theory, Indigenous methodologies, gender discrimination in STEM, aging workforce, and grief support systems.
• Teaching: Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior.
• Mentorship: Co-supervises three Ph.D. students; external examiner role.

Her recent publications examine gender equity in STEM, entrepreneurial succession, and workplace aging through feminist and Indigenous frameworks. She advocates for organizational reforms to address systemic exclusion.
