Stefan Remy

Prof. Dr. Stefan Remy is a Group Leader at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Magdeburg, Germany. His research investigates disease-related alterations in neuronal signal processing, with a focus on synaptic function, dendritic properties, and network dynamics in neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer's disease. He employs advanced techniques including in vivo electrophysiology, two-photon calcium imaging, STED microscopy, and computational modeling.

• Altered neuronal excitability in Alzheimer's mouse models linking dendritic degeneration to hyperexcitability
• Subcortical modulation of memory circuits (locus coeruleus, medial septum) and movement-related hippocampal activity
